Who is Felix?
Thanks for visiting Strive with Felix! I'm Felix, a former IB student from Sydney, Australia who obtained a 43 IB score (99.45 ATAR equivalent) from the International School of Kuala Lumpur in 2022. Currently, I'm a 1st year Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) student at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Over my 6+ years of teaching, I've tutored 85+ students with all types of learning styles and backgrounds across both South East Asia and Australia.
I take immense pride in sharing this wealth of experience and my genuine love for teaching with all my students to help them conquer any academic goals they strive for, especially if they feel their school teachers and material just isn't doing it for them.
So what inspired Strive with Felix?
In Australia, the IB has always been overshadowed by local curriculums which remain the most popular.
For Australian IB schools outside of the most elite, they struggle to hire quality teachers who know IB curriculums inside out and can teach it proficiently.
As an IB tutor for 4+ years, I've heard it all from my IB students: teachers using non-IB resources, unable to answer questions and clueless on how to fully maximise the functions of their graphing calculators.
IB tuition is desperately needed, but unfortunately... it's broken.
The industry is monopolised by large tutoring companies charging a fortune ($120+) for tutoring that barely guarantees formidable results and doesn't emphasise mentorship between students and tutors.
All these companies do is prey on students' and parents' desperation...
That's where Strive with Felix comes in - online tutoring with the stringent, exceptional quality you'd expect from popular tutoring companies, but at much more reasonable prices. I've built the very exact system that I wish I had when I was completing my IB diploma.
Parents want the absolute best for their children. However, tutoring prices through the roof shouldn't act as a barrier to their children accessing necessary resources and assistance to attain their academic goals.
